Even with a good synthetic oil, I'd tell most people (who can't afford to regularly blow up motors) to shut the motor down at 300* oil temp. I am truly amazed that it lasted this long. I attribute it to very frequent fills of fresh Red Line. "You know, it would be alot cheaper to rebuild this engine if you don't scatter it first." - The guy who is going to rebuild my engine at Beaver Run on Saturday.
