Final results for the 13 hour race. We finished 2nd in class, 44.5 seconds behind the class leading car in ITB. Just in case that hasn't hit home.........after 13 hours we missed first place in class by 44.5 seconds!! We were up as many as 9 laps during the race but at about 6:40pm (9.5 hours into the race) we had a front axle fail and we were stranded on the track until the EV came and got us. It took 34 minutes from the time we passed the start finish, pulled off the track at turn 6 (VIR), got picked up by the tow truck, brought back to our paddock space, the crew changed the left front axle and 3 tires, we had to go to tech and then returned to the track. We were 9 laps up when we broke and came out 2 laps down. But what really killed us was, shortly after we went back out, we went about another 1.5 hours then decided to change drivers for the last stint. Just before we finished our pit stop....a full course yellow....damn !!!, we lost another lap. Our final driver, Greg Amy, with about an hour and 45 minutes to go, was running 12-13 seconds per lap faster than the first place car................we came up short by 44.5 seconds !!!. We all had at least one 3 hour stint a piece during the race...grueling, tough on the mind and the body, but a ton of fun !!!

Sounds like it was quite the race. Congrats on the near win! I bet you all have had more than one "if only" moments. 34 minutes probably felt like an eternity at the time but thats a lot of work to get done. Nice work.
