phlip Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 I just rear the 09 rules and have looked in old GTS rules and I thought they said that dyno pulls for certification should be done in 4th gear or gear that is closest to 1 to 1 ratio. Is this still the case? I am retuning to class into 3 and this make a difference in HP and TRQ. Quote
cstreit911 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 I don't recall seeing that specific text but in general dyno pulls are done in the gear closest to 1:1. to be safe, that's your best suggestion. Quote
FlyingDog Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 If you have a straight through gear, that will give you the least drag and highest dyno result. If your 1:1 gear is not straight through, it probably doesn't matter. A lot of cars will over rev the dyno in 5th or 6th gear so some operators automatically use 4th gear. Quote
ianacole Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I've always done mine in 3rd gear (5 speed)...I may have to rethink that Quote
