limp1969
what is the point to shut the car down do to high water temp? 306 sbf race engine
Cobra4B
I've always heard 240+ coolant 290+ oil. My Z06 would run 230s coolant and 300+ oil stock. I'd do a cooldown when oil got over 290 and coolant ws never an issue. Post oil cooler temps never got over 270s even in the hotest days. Panoz wouldn't get over 255 this past weekend at summer slam in near 100 degree heat and coolant stayed around 200 all weekend. Car has a SBF 302 making 315 rwhp. Aardwolf
Depending on the combo you can go higher then that. I wouldn't slow mine down till 260° on coolant, that's a SBC with aluminum heads. 300° for oil temp would be my max but I'd never see those unless something was wrong. 195° coolant and 235° oil are my normal race temps. limp1969
at California speedway today , the 1st time out at 10am the car went to 210 220 coolant then as it got hotter out the temp went to 240 on turns when I hit the straight 145 mph it goes down to 225 230? Seems ok?
