2009 GTS Rookie of the Year Presented by Bondurant School

July 28, 2009 — The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is pleased to announce the Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving will provide awards to NASA German Touring Series (GTS) Rookie competitors in 2009.

 

Awards will be given to the top five point earners across all regions. GTS Competitors nationwide who start their 2009 season with a Rookie status will be eligible to win one of five awards at the end of the 2009 season.

 

The 1st place award, based on average season points earned per race, will receive a $500 gift certificate to the Bondurant School of High Performance Driving. The 2nd through 5th place runners-up will each receive a $300 gift certificate to attend the driving school.

 

To take part in the program, competitors must email Todd Crutcher, Director of Shows & Promotions at Bondurant ([email protected]) requesting information. Bondurant will provide “GTS 2009 Rookie of the Year Presented By: Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving” decals. Upon receipt of the decals, participants will then be required to email a photo of the participating car displaying the GTS 2009 Rookie of the Year decal to Crutcher.

 

Program details:

GTS rookie drivers are eligible (must have started the season in rookie status)

All 11 regions eligible

Top 5 point earners across all regions win certificates

 

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have started the year in rookie status as defined by section 13.2 of the CCR. Rookies must earn points in 5 races (requirement to be eligible for end of year awards). Winner will be determine by taking the total season points earned and dividing that by the total number of season point eligible events.

• Competitor must register with Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving (Todd Crutcher).

• Competitor must display “GTS 2009 Rookie of the Year Presented By: Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving” decals (2 decals, 1 on each side of the car) which will be provided by Bondurant.

• Winners will be determined following the final event of the season (SE Region event December 3‐4, 2009) and winners will be notified and receive their certificates by December 31, 2009.

• Certificates are good for 1 year after date of issuance.

• Ties will be broken by:

1. Total number of races

2. Total number of 1st place, then 2nd place, etc. finishes

3. Average finishing position versus total number of participants

Since Kyle has so patiently waited I figured it's about time to post the results of the 2009 GTS Rookie of the Year...

 

 

 

 

In 3rd place, earning 619 season points and averaging 77.4 points per start (56.3 points average across total eligible races), finishing in 4th place regionally in GTS-2, out of the Great Lakes Region ...

Outstanding choice. Having competed with Kyle the entire year he is most deserving of this award. Kyle drove the entire season very competitively and in the best sprit of our sport. Kyle is both a tenacious racer and more importantly in my opinion a tremendous gentleman both on and off the track. Well done Kyle – congratulations
