Embroidering a fire suit

Hey guys,

Looking for advice on embroidering a fire suit. Would it be easier to have a patch made or just have the logo I want stitched into the fabric directly? Also, I have read that nomex thread should be used, would the local tailor/cleaner that I have prior business with be the best option to only sew into the third (outer) layer? Any stories/advice/tips are appreciated!

The suit will have to be disassembled for them to sew only the outer layer (not easy). I had all of my embroidery made into patches and those were then sewn onto the suit (minimal penetration of the fireproof layers).

Nomex thread is the best way to go, but is hard to find in any large assortment of colors.
