944 Spec For Sale in SoCal

I had been thinking about selling my car for a while, and then I blew my engine at a POC event back in June. With a 2 year old and now a 2 month old baby at home I just haven’t had the time or motivation to fix it. Rather than replace the engine then sell the car I am willing to give someone a great deal, you drop in an engine and go racing. The car has all the spec legal goodies except the LSD. Has a POC logbook and is legal to race in NASA, PCA, or SCCA. The build was completed in July 2006 and it has been well maintained and upgraded since then. Comes with meticulous records and set-up info. As a rookie driver with a very limited schedule I still managed POC time trial and STS wins and got on the podium in a cup race. Modifications are described in the list below, I'm sure there a few more things I’m forgetting too. Asking $5k firm for the car and spares. I have a supplier for used engines at $700 each so you could be on the track racing in a well-sorted competitive car for under $6k. Chassis:

· Full 6 point custom welded cage

· Gutted and lightened chassis, 2350 pounds

· Fire suppression system

· M&R 6 point cam lock belts, driver and passenger

· Racers Group (Recaro XL) driver seat

· Ultrashield rally passenger seat

· New Suede racing steering wheel with quick release

· Autopower seat back brace and window net

· Lightweight Odyssey PC680 sealed battery

· Push button start

· Hourmeter

· Steering lock removed

· Wired and brackets for Cool Suit (cooler can be included for additional $)

· Kill Switch

 

Suspension:

· New Koni yellow adjustable shocks F&R (2 days on them)

· Tarett Engineering adjustable swaybars F&R (the best 944 bars period, $1125)

· Ground Control coilover kit, 400 pound Eibach springs

· Ground Control camber plates

· 30mm Torsion bars

· 968 Caster blocks (2 days on them)

· All bushings upgraded with Weltmeister Poly bushings

· RE Suspension coilover bearings

· New tie rods (2 days on them)

· Competition alignment and cornerbalance (with reference sheets & notes)

 

 

Brakes:

· Performance Friction 97 pads all around (3 days on them)

· Spare Hawk Blue pads included

· Rebuilt calipers

· Braided stainless brake lines

· Custom fabricated cooling ducts to front brakes

· Recently replaced master and slave cylinders

· ATE blue brake fluid

 

Drivetrain:

· Brand new Sachs clutch and pressure plate (1 day on it, $680)

· Short 5th Gear (no LSD)

· Factory tubular header (the best 944spec legal exhaust manifold)

· Custom 2.5” exhaust with Magnaflow race muffler

· Recent plugs, wires, cap, and rotor

· New reference sensors

· Factory AC delete bracket

 

Spares:

· 10 cookie cutter wheels, all with Toyo RA1’a with ~50% left

· Hawk Blue brake pads

· Front rotors

· DME relay

· Tie rod ends

· Misc parts and alignment tools
