Comp racing question

Is it possible to run a car in comp racing w/o doing extensive mods to car? I have done numerous HPDE, I understand the steps to obtain a Comp Racing license, but how far do you have to go on your car?

it has to meet all the safety requirements for a race car that are listed in the CCR because you will be racing during the comp school.

You could try to borrow or rent a car to take the school if you are not sure if you want to take the plunge.

cheers,

bruce

No, unless you don't think having a full roll cage installed is an extensive mod...

yeah, your vehicle will need to pass logbook inspection... meaning you need all the required equipment for racing (cage, seat, etc x alot).

renting a car for the school might be a good way to test the waters before committing. Though I'm sure you'll love it and want to get out there

If you want to rent my 944 spec race car for the school, let me know. I will make it reasonable.

Be aware that you would need all the required driver safety gear (suit, H&N, gloves, etc) and a physical before you take the comp school.

The physical part almost got me tripped up. Read the CCR! Thanks Eric.
