Waco Racer
Is the Cadillac CTS legal for AI? Specifically, could I race a 6 cylinder version with a V8 swapped in?
pederb
I can't see why not, and yes you can swap a V8 into it
Jeff F
May I respectfully point out, Mr. Techincal Director, that the CTS has an IRS, and is NOT an "approved IRS" listed in section 6.1.d of the 2005 AI rules?
pederb
The reason for that is that no one has mention that he wanted to build a CTS. We made the same thing for the GTO, if someone wants to build a CTS for AI then we will take a look at it just like with any other american build sedan who are not included in the rules. Jeff F
I realize that there is a process for getting the car approved, but at this point it has not been done... so until it has been considered and approved, the CTS is NOT legal for AI. I would think that with everything that has happened in AI in the last year, especially with IRS's, you wouldn't be so quick to tell someone that they can go ahead and build a CTS. pederb
Did I say go ahead? Let me see, no it says "I can't see why not" Since Waco Racer did ask if the CTS is legal it's now in the process of being approved.
JWL
Guys- As Peder said, we have to look at this one prior to approving it. The directors have a note in their boxes to look this over and we'll get an answer after we get back online after 1/1/05. -JWL
Rustic
Looks like another entry into the AI Luxury class
swhiteh3
Hmm... maybe I should start racing Lincoln Towncars. Actually, I know of a few old extended limos for sale. Any problem with a 210" wheelbase?

swhiteh3
Yeah, for some of the hairpins I may have to notify other drivers that I intend to make a "K" turn. Does that mean I need to make sure the reverse lights are functioning?
