dakota guy Posted December 12, 2009 Share Posted December 12, 2009 its all in the heads, intake, and cam. be very moderate with the cam timing and the heads need to be better than the stock e7's but don't go too wild. what exactly are you doing with the motor, it might help to make some more recommendations. DrC Posted December 13, 2009 Share Posted December 13, 2009 This is a good topic for us new folks. At some point I will need to take my old 200,000 miles small block Ford and rebuild it. To keep the cost under control but freshen up the motor, what can you do and not do? I would like to buy new parts for long life, I would also like to add Dual springs to the ford stock head so if one breaks it will not take out my head, piston and possibly the block.
