danwendling
I have several options in wheel tire sizes for HPDE/TT days. The car is a 2010 Callaway Grand Sport SC606. Looking for advice on best handling, fit, impact on stability control, most flexibility for other tire types not listed, supporting tire sponsors, or whatever is important to consider. For example should I consider 18x12 rears as it opens up a few more tire options (like Toyo R888) Fronts: Stock Diameter 25.6" 18x10 Hoosier R6 P285/30ZR 24.9" dia. 18x10 Hoosier R6 P295/30ZR 25.3" dia. 18x10 Kumho V710 P285/30ZR 24.8" dia. 18x10 Kumho V710 P305/30ZR 25.2" dia. 18x10 Michelin Sport Cup P285/30ZR 25.1" dia. 18x10 Michelin Sport Cup P295/30ZR 25.2" dia. 18x10 BFG R1 P265/35ZR 25.0" dia. 18x10 BFG R1 P275/35ZR 25.4" dia. 18x10 BFG R1 P285/30ZR 25.0" dia. 18x11 Hoosier R6 P295/30ZR 25.3" dia. 18x11 Hoosier R6 P315/30ZR 25.6" dia. 18x11 Kumho V710 P305/30ZR 25.2" dia. 18x11 Kumho V710 P315/35ZR 26.4" dia. 18x11 Michelin Sport Cup P285/30ZR 25.1" dia. 18x11 Michelin Sport Cup P295/30ZR 25.2 dia. 18x11 BFG R1 P275/35ZR 25.4" dia. 18x11 BFG R1 P285/30ZR 25.0" dia. jimbow
IIRC this is close to your first rodeo. Run stock tires at least a couple of events. I've been doing this a long time with street tires with some "sticky" tires every once in a while. I'm going to run 275x35r18 on c5 z06 18x10.5 rims. In your case I'd keep the stock stagger, buy another set of rims that match the stockers and use hoosier or khumo's. Since you will be in HPDE for a while don't get them until you are in group 3 or you will get frustrated.
danwendling
Given a choice in rears between 18x13 Hoosier R6 P345/35ZR and 19x12 Hoosier R6 P345/30ZR why should I choose one over the other? Key here is "why".
jimbow
Same diameter - which one is cheaper. Only why with those two tires. You buy wheels once or twice, you buy tires over and over and over again.
philstireservice
Given a choice in rears between 18x13 Hoosier R6 P345/35ZR and 19x12 Hoosier R6 P345/30ZR why should I choose one over the other? Key here is "why". Go with the 18".....much more popular and less expensive
