wastntim
I was reading the CCR and it says that minimum rating for firesuit w/o fire resistant underwear is 3.2A5. Is this automatically a 3 layer or can it be 2 layer as well? Do most people wear the fire resistant underwear as well?
ZipZap
Layers and fire resistance are not locked in stone, so you will find many choices that meet the spec. I know folks that wear all sorts of underwear, and I know those who go commando. It becomes a personal preference for comfort, ease of wear and risk aversion. nasaregistrar
Take a look at the most recent GRM and read Charles Esbenlaub's story of what happened at the 25 hour.....
wastntim
Take a look at the most recent GRM and read Charles Esbenlaub's story of what happened at the 25 hour..... Thanks for the tip. I read that I guess I'm going with the 3 layer and the fire resistant long johns!
kbrew8991
I like the CarbonX stuff I wear. Its a little pricey but it breathes decent and is supposed to offer superior protection to nomex.
