Trailer for TT cars

After spending all of last year carrying the tires, tools, jacks, and etc in my Focus... I bought a trailer for this year. It works pretty good. I can carry everything in the trailer except for my EZup.

The trialer cost me $160, the hitch cost about $180 and the box was $40.

I know the Hitch adds about 20lbs to the car, but it sure makes it easy for me.

here's some pics...

Looks good Ted. After a year of lugging, packing, and squeezing 6 tires and all of my other gear into the SRT4, I bought an open car trailer. I just built a tire rack on it that will hold 8 tires. Looks like no more driving home without a clutch for me .

Just a heads up ...

an autocross friend of mine used a setup identical to that for a couple of years.

One day the trailer came apart at the seams ... literally and at hiway speeds. It was rather ugly. The metal had fatigued where the frame bolts together.

The simple solution is to weld all the bolt together seams.

That's a good Idea. I think I'll do that.
