Posting for a good friend; car is in Santa Monica area - not Spec legal (due to knife-edged crank, trans and header), but otherwise a very good deal just for the parts. I wish I would have started with this car...

For Sale: Enthusiast owned 1983 guards red Porsche 944, black interior. Professionally rebuilt motor (approximately 28k ago). Approximately 107k on chassis. Custom dash and interior. Price $4900 US OBO. Purchased a 928 as reason for selling. Also, car is set-up for aggressive driving on A/X or track car, but is very comfortable and drivable on the street. Drive to the track and drive home. Very reliable transportation. I would drive it anywhere and have.

Drivetrain

Motor:

@78k, Complete Engine Rebuild (28,XXX mi. ago.)

Included in rebuild: All seals, new rod and main bearings, cross-drilled and knife-edged and balanced crank, front seals, belts, headgasket, heads/valves re-worked with 5 angle cnc machine (all worked performed by Henry "Kurt" Tahmasian). Pan gasket replaced.

Oil/filter changed every 3-4k with synthetic oil

Waterpump replaced approx. 28k mi. ago

At rebuild, parts replaced include new fuel pressure regulator and damper and vacuum lines.

No leaks whatsoever

951 external oil cooler (internal unit prone to leaks replaced).

Dist.rotor and ign. wires replaced (magnecor)(approximately 21k)

Plugs have less than 4k (extra set included)

Smog compliant

AC Compressor delete

K&N filter

Extra DME relay included

Transaxle:

944S (for sturdiness) with fresh synthetic oil (Redline). Transaxle has approximately 89k. Shifts are crisp with no grinding

Complete clutch replaced right before engine rebuild, approximately 30k ago.

Suspension/steering:

Original manual steering rack with bushings replaced 28k ago

All aluminum control/trailing arms installed from a low mileage 1986 Porsche 951 (944 turbo), early offset

Front control ams (rebuilt 7k ago) with grease fittings (Paragon SD rebuild kit) Weltmeister poly bushings at the same time.

Front coil overs (400lb Ground Control springs and perches) with Bilstein HD shocks (less than 5k on shocks and front suspension)

Rear hollow 31mm torsion bars (effective rate 400lbs.) with Koni yellows (probably should be replaced with Bilstein HD as they were used at time of installation)

Porsche 951S M030 26.8mm fr, 16mm rear sways. Fresh Weltmeister poly bushings all around.

Front inner and outer wheel bearings replaced approximately 7k ago.

Could use complete alignment and tire balancing as suspension work was done and no subsequent alignment.

Tires need replacing

Car comes with straight, "cookie-cutter", painted flat black. Extra set of cookies available with tired Hoosiers race tires mounted. Rims also painted flat black.

Body:

Straight body with fender bender dent in passenger side front fender near headlight.

Car had fiberglass 951 nose at time of paint job (2006). Since then nose was replaces with stock and repainted unprofessionally (me).

Front spoiler/valence has scuffs and could use replacement and or respray.

Two straight front fenders, nose piece and hood included with sale.

931 hood (naca ducted) on car

Stock European fiberglass bumper. Very expensive and hard to find part.

Bolt holes where a 951 valence was mounted are present and could be easily filled and painted.

Fog lights cracked and were removed for weight savings.

Headlights are H 5 and work perfectly. Pop up and down seamlessly.

Keyless entry

Nice upgraded cargo cover.

Interior:

Custom leather sport seats

Custom dash w/all new Autometer Sport Comp gauges (replaced 28k ago at time of engine rebuild), red LED lighting

Center console has Autometer Sport Comp voltmeter, oil pressure and narrow band air/fuel gauge. All gauges work.

Sparco 368 suede steering wheel

High end billet aluminum quick release (Paragon Products)

Shortened, custom stainless steel shift knob w/ replaced (15k) shift bushings and shaft.

Dash has usual cracks, covered with custom aftermarket plastic cover. Not perfect, but looks fine.

I am sure I am missing somethings, but this is a well cared for, well sorted 944 which will provide years of faithful and reliable driving and racing.
