Great Compact Digital Video Camera from OG Racing

We have been field testing pre-production versions of the RePlay XD digital video camera for several months in both race and drivers education environments in several different cars. The manufacturer has made improvements to the production version based on our recommendations. They are due to arrive in August for $189.95. The RePlay records on Micro SD cards up to 16GB. This particular video is of Brian Hair driving the OG Racing Spec RX-7 at NJMP earlier this month. For more information, please contact our sales office at 800-934-9112 or via [email protected].

Below is a photo of the camera and a link to some video recorded using the RePlay Camera. As you can see it is extremely compact. It is completely self contained and comes with both a lighter and wall charger, and basic mounts. For those of you who already have in car video systems, the RePlay would be a great addition as a second camera to be pointed out the rear window.

Video looks nice! I'll definitely have to shop this against the GoPro HD - especially since the pricepoint looks cheaper!

I do have a question about the audio. Is there a separate audio line? What are our options?

Looks great, I remember you telling me about these a couple weeks ago. I may have to pick one up and attach it to my helmet for karting.

Boomn29:

The camera has built mic. Currently does not have a provision for attaching an external mic. Also it comes with a 4GB micro SD card, and the adapter to insert it into a standard SD card slot. It is a nice camera especially at the price point. Built in rechargeable battery and it includes the car and wall charger, and the USB cable to charge off a laptop. The car and wall adapters connect to the other end of the USB cable.

Kind regards,

FWIW, here are "features" (more like characteristics) of my older, non-HD GoPro Hero that seem to be overcome by this new camera:

1. The mic completely sucks.

2. Can only use a 2gb card; nothing bigger will work.

3. Must remove AAA batteries to charge them (although I'll admit that I never tried to charge it via the USB cable). However, a plus is that you can quickly replace them with freshly-charged batteries.

4. Must use an external charger (although it was included from the eBay seller I bought it from).

5. Didn't come with a lighter plug.

I haven't had a chance to play with the newer, HD GoPro cameras yet, so some of the above "characteristics" might have changed (or might not).
