loftygoals
I am assuming based on your head measurement that you are using a 9.5/1 block and pistons. Yes, 9.5:1 pistons. There are two potential problems you may have created by shaving to near minimum if you are using an 86 or earlier block. The first is not having enough cam belt adjustment for that measurement if using an 86 or earlier block. The second is that you head may measure too thin when torqued down and run through some heat cycles. I am using a early block. I'm going to see if it will go with a standard head gasket. If I can't take up the slack in the belt, or if it measures too thin installed, I will use a 1.4mm head gasket. I looked at retroing a late tensioner, but it seems that it will be too difficult to tap the block for the mounting studs with the block still in the car. -bj
