National Staff Jeremy C. Posted April 16, 2011 National Staff Share Posted April 16, 2011 Folks, Have a look at the newest rules addendum relating to the recent tire situation. 4/15/2011 Rule Addendum Effectively Immediately NOTE: Underline= Items Added / {Bracket= Deleted items} 7.12 Wheels and Tires a) The required tire for Honda Challenge point races is the Toyo Proxes RA-1. Effective May 1st, NASA will permit the use of any DOT-Approved tires excluding special applications such as autocross, open wheel, time attack and hill climb. H4CRXSi
Jeremy, Is there any time limit as to how long this rule will be in effect for, or at this point is it open ended? Since it is now a rule addendum can we guess that it will be in effect for the remainder of 2011 until the 2012 rules are published? Regards, Sam
Zook
I think that all we can hope and ask for that once the ra-1 is available again, that nasa and the rc will give us ample time to use up tires we have and switch back. Im sure a timline for this would be anyone guess!
