Were are last years champions? Is Ron Farmer going to defend his championship ! ?

He's been doing the Continental Tire Series - I wonder what that schedule looks like..? (/pure speculation)

Will be a facinating test of the ST2 different setups as we will likely be running 8.15 or 8.1 power to weight given size tires and weight.

Will create some wild straightline and handling differences vs the vettes.

The question is can a set of A's last for 40 minutes under 3,500lbs...of course when was the last time we raced for the full 40 minutes.

obviously i am not understanding something. how are you getting to 8.1 - 1 weight to power?

the way i understand it with 275 wide dot's and 3400lbs+ i have to run 9.0 to 1.

what am i missing?

At 3501 they will recieve a +0.3 and for the 275 you will recieve a +0.4

So if you have a car that makes 435 rwhp and weights 3501 this would give you a power to weight of 8.04 then you add the +0.3 for the higher weight and the +0.4 for the smaller tires.

This gives you an adjusted power to weight of 8.74 and therefore legal for ST2.

Hope that helps,

Joel

Exactly. Will be curious though if A6 275/18's can last for a nationals race well under all that weight.

Hoping its a cool day

My car is +/- 3150 and the 275's (not considering shock fatigue) fall off a good bit after about 25min at Rd Atl. I can't imagine what they'd be like after 30min at a place like MO with that much weight and power. I would think that tire choice/maint would trump power in that situation.

So huge 22 car field so far in ST2 looks like.

Nice range of vehicles. Will have to see if us Boss 302s's car upset the vette's.

Was running only 1.5 seconds off pace this past wknd with R6's at 14 heat cycles and down 20rwhp so feeling optimistic.

My guess is high 31's and 32's constant will be needed for top 3 for sure.
