NAPA VALLEY, CA - The National Auto Sport Association announced today that beginning January 1st, 2012, all NASA classes specifying the Toyo Proxes RA1 for competition use will do so beginning with the first race weekend for each region. There will be no "transition period" permitted in classes that were permitted the use of other tires during 2011 season because of the natural disaster experienced by Japan.

"We understand that some racers may have tires left over from the 2011 season" said Jeremy Croiset, NASA Sponsorship Manager. "Unfortunately, allowing tires other than a Toyo just isn't a logical possibility. Thus, in the interest of class parity, the decision was made to require the RA1 from the start of the 2012 season."

Toyos new revised and improved contingency program goes into effect beginning in 2012 and should help offset some of the costs our racers will incur. Additionally, Toyo has graciously agreed to honor all 2011 Regional Championship Contingency claim forms regardless of class which should help those classes affected by the tire rules last year.
