The car started as a Grassroots Motorsports Challenge car. It has been a participant in 4 GRM Challenges and finished 3rd overall for the last 2, and 2nd in autoX both years. The car was then invited to participate in the Ultimate Track Car Challenge at VIR in 2011, and finished 4th fastest in group B. Due to the nature of the build, the car has received quite a bit of recognition. This includes a cover shot for GRM magazine as well as several other articles throughout the cars history. The most recent write up was an 8 page spread in Performance BMW Magazine, based out of the UK. The car was tuned by DIY Autotune, 356 RWHP at 15psi. Its reliable and FAST.

That kidney is not in decent condition.

Good luck with the sale man, I can assure that whoever buys this is going to be very happy. This thing is one of the coolest E30's I've ever seen.

how is a 2000 dollar car going for 11500

It's not a $2K car folks. It was a GRM Challenge car, then was an Ultimate Track Car Challenge - lots of new parts/work/etc was put into it. I have seen this car run several times, it's incredible. Amazing power and super light.

Free bump for a cool seller and great car! Someone give it a good home!

Interesting. I read the most recent issue of GRM with the rat-rod version of this for the 2011 Challenge winner, and wondered how much a better, non-Challenge version would go for. Not a bad price, really Out of my range, by, oh $11K, but good to know for the future. Good luck with the sale!

  • 1 month later...

Very clean car that is well worth the asking price, if not more!

You have to ignore the whole "GRM $20xx" budget numbers, as that doesn't include a lot of safety gear or the hundreds if not thousands of hours of labor involved with making every little part to meet the rules for that competition. Not to mention that they've added thousands in parts and work after they took it beyond the GRM Challenge rules.

Great price on a sweet car!
