banzaitrey
I recently acquired two Baby Grand stock cars and we are planning on doing some road racing. What class would these be run under in NASA events? We are located in the mid-south region, Memphis, TN. Thanks for your help
National Staff Greg G. Posted October 24, 2012 National Staff Share Posted October 24, 2012 They would fall into our STR3 class now (and TT3 for Time Trial). In the past they would have been in PTA and TTA, but both of those classes are being replaced in 2013 with ST3 and TT3. The 2013 ST Rules are already published. http://www.nasaproracing.com/rules/Super-Touring.pdf
Rob S.
They would fall into our STR3 class now (and TT3 for Time Trial). Tube-frame cars like Mazda GT RX7's (7's only) and Panoz can compete in Time Trials in TT3? So for Time Trials both ST3 and STR3 cars fall under TT3? Thanks. National Staff Greg G. Posted October 24, 2012 National Staff Share Posted October 24, 2012 Rob, no. The Baby Grand would still be able to compete in TT3 in 2013 as a Baby Grand. Once it moves to the full STR3 ruleset, it would not be a TT3 car any longer. We have not decided if/how we will map STR cars to TT yet in 2013.
