2013 Rules changes

The rules changes for GTS for 2013 have been finalized and will be available on the GTS web site as soon as we have a chance to post them, which will probably later this weekend.

The changes are trivial. They are:

1) We have changed the GTSU power to weight ratio to "No limit" to reflect the fact GTS cars of all horsepower levels sometimes run in that class.

2) We have added a ban on any ECU which is alterable wirelessly.

3) We have combined the former Dyno Declaration form and the declaration form used at the 2012 championships to provide a more detailed and comprehensive declaration of how exactly your car is supposed to be configured (this form, too, will be posted shortly).

4) We've changed the requirements for GTS class identification. This is spelled out in some detail in the rules so there is no question about what we have in mind. There are specific requirements as to placement on the vehicle. This is intended to make it easier for everyone to actually find the things on our cars.

Unlike the old GTS stickers which were free, the new ones will have to be purchased. The cost will be $20 per set (plus shipping), which includes a $2 fee for GTS. This is money we can use for GTS expenses, whether that's the occasional keg, special trophies, or whatever.

Within the next week or so, you'll be able to order your sticker sets online from the GTS web site. One set includes five stickers, for both sides, front, rear, and toolbox/tow vehicle.

The new stickers look very nice and will both help promote the fantastic level of preparation of GTS cars, as well as help our friends and family--the folks who come to watch us race--have a better idea who's racing whom.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this year's rules discussion. Your input, as always, is greatly appreciated.

See you at the track!
