Licensing Question

Hello,

I emailed my local "boss man" but there's an event this weekend so am unsure if he will get on here and I'm ready to stick this stuff in the mail.

I need a NASA competition license, I have a current SCCA regional license. Do I just need to mail the appropriate paperwork to the national office or do I need to mail or get approval from my local region as well?

Thanks!

13.1.2 SCCA Regional Licensing program:

1. Submit a copy of their Novice Permit with school requirements completed.

2. Submit a copy of their driver’s license.

3. Submit a copy of their Physical Examination Form.

4. Submit the appropriate fee.

I would imagine that you would want to contact your region director and even race director and kind of say "Hi!"

Saw that but missed the regional part, I'll wait for a reply from him. Thanks!

Looks like that above is if I didn't have a complete license yet, based on this:

14.1.3

Current SCCA license holders

Regional, National, Pro:

1. Submit a copy of their current SCCA license.

2. Submit a copy of their state driver’s license.

3. Submit the appropriate license fee.

4. Submit an Application for Competition License

Still waiting on a reply from the local boss.

Definitely a great idea to touch base before submitting paperwork. Regions want to hear from new racers because provisional competition licenses are issued/approved regionally, sometimes with more requirements than just the ones listed in the CCR.

ps- I can't speak for Pantas @ SE but when it's during or just before one of my events, any comms about anything other than the event in question get delayed until the following week

Gotcha, I'll wait to see what he says. Thanks!
