Al Watson
That is correct. These are the recommended changes the regional directors put together, The national director may accept, deny or change these. AL.

Track Junkie
It'll be interesting to see what happens. I have been running an economy shock package ( per the initial rule set) since March, and for me, it works great. Not sure why an expensive setup was mandated for a "budget" class. I do have a set of the HVTs uninstalled sitting in a box, waiting for final clarification. Thanks, Richard
suck fumes
So if the HVT package isn't mandatory then people can run whatever they want??? I wouldn't have dropped $2400 on it if I had known it wasn't going to be mandatory. Really takes the spec factor out and the competition won't be as close if its not mandatory. Al Watson
I apologize on not being clear on the shock rule suggestion. The original rule was any $1000 shock and then HVT came on board as the spec shock per the tech bulletin. So we are suggesting the following change: remove the 'any $1000 shock rule' and add' hvt shock may be used'. Yes 'may' and not 'must'. So this allows either the oe shocks it came with or the HVT package and no others. Our reason for this suggestion is we feel it will help new SI cars get into the field at a lower initial cost, growing the class. Alot of other rules are 'may' or 'permitted' as well leaving the oe stuff open for use. The HVT package is far superior than a oe shock so its the ticket for performance, and oe shock is the ticket for budget folks. So 'any' shock is not the case. RCR-AI-062613 Y remove 7.3.g firewall mods for 2005 valvecovers.... Wondering what the purpose of this rule is... I run a pushrod engine in my 05 chassis, and with my tall valve covers and breather hoses the wiper bucket (not the cowl as defined by the rules in my estimation) on the passenger side is quite close to the valve cover. Getting the rear bolt off the valve cover is a real b*tch, so i used a rubber mallet and bent the bucket in a bit on the very bottom. It's not cut, and is still intact. It certainly is not a performance enhancer. The rules state the “ Cowl is described as the metal structure between the firewall and the base of the windshield" The wiper bucket does not go to the base of the windshield, so by definition is not part of the cowl. At least that's how I interpret it... Does this rule consideration mean my build will not be legal next year?
stevepoe
Richard you obviously have not been on the hvt package . no way a economy set compares to this system. it's a kick ass system and a steal for what is goes for . I even think some ai cars could work with the system with no problem .Our spec iron car is incredible to drive . Thanks Steve, got the HVTs going in on Wednesday. We had two SI cars at Sebring yesterday. Both built by Iconic. One with, and mine without. I was consistently a second to a second and a half behind. I would love to blame it on the shocks and not my inconsistent attempt at driving.
stevepoe
you will like . it's a pretty solid system for the money . I was really surprised by it . We have been out 4 races on it now and we are really starting to get it dialed in. short tracks we can really keep up with ai cars we just get killed by hp and having no good 5th
FR500S70
RCR-SI-091913 ? 6.1 power- change wght to tq ratio from 11.75:1 to 11.25:1 I support this change. The engines are biassed toward having higher torque numbers. This change is consistent with the spec iron theme while making the cars safer and easier to handle. FR500S70
RCR-SI-092513 ? 7.5.2 request to remove weight % requirement I also support this change. I would rather drive a car that the rear end does not want to swap ends with the front. This is a safety issue and has little to no financial impact on the cost of the car.
