stevepoe Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Made ya look this place has been dead as of late Quote
UBR Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Funny. I looked at the subject, looked at the author and thought... Steve's bored. j Quote
marshallmosty Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Will be interesting to see how the new chassis does in Continental tire. I bet it will be even better than the last since Ford's very engaged in their factory racing program. Quote
thonczarenko Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 I'm pretty excited about the new car. I am praying that the new suspension is a leap forward and can really hand it to any other car in its class. Quote
stevepoe Posted December 6, 2013 Author Posted December 6, 2013 Will be interesting to see how the new chassis does in Continental tire. I bet it will be even better than the last since Ford's very engaged in their factory racing program. Ford will probably write a big ass check to imsa/nascar in 2015. The mustang will show back up with roush and multimatic and kick ass . Then it will get rules hung all over it through the season and be a back marker end 2016. Or when another manufacturer writes a better number on the check . I'm pretty excited about the new car. I am praying that the new suspension is a leap forward and can really hand it to any other car in its class. I wish Tremec would have placed a better bid on the trans. heard gertag got it again and it's a mt82 carry over. hope not ... If so better add a r1 trans to the bottom line number . Quote
reedrum Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 With IRS and lower stance, I suspect a huge handling improvement over S197.. Yes, I see a crazy AI forum once someone builds and competes in a '15. Quote
Al Watson Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 Probably good to start looking into the '15 mustang and see if we have appropriate rules in place now vs waiting to for issues. The IRS seems covered in the existing rules. Quote
nape Posted December 8, 2013 Posted December 8, 2013 I'm hoping Ford pooched the geometry for good street car manners on a "global" chassis. Quote
robbodleimages Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 track width on the new car is well outside current perameters from what ive been told. this is an argument we've seen here before. so.... Quote
T&A Racing Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 While the rules aren't written that way any longer, most of the track widths came from some addition to stock. Can't recall if it was 1 inch or 2. So that shouldn't be a big deal to include it in the future by appling the same logic. We for sure get some solid data before start changing anything. And I could be wrong but I don't think any one has one yet. Quote
Grizlbits Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 (edited) track width on the new car is well outside current perameters from what ive been told. this is an argument we've seen here before. so.... You seriously think a new car would be not allowed due to track width? BTW: I heard it was 2-3" NARROWER, which would make it inside the parameters. It doesn't matter anyway. The car isn't out yet. Talk of disallowing a new car before its out is kind of like organizing the deck chairs on the sinking Titanic. Oh look, a squirrel! Good Job Steve! You got a topic going. We may as well change the power to weight ratio on this car now. Maybe 15:1? edit: changed "chance" to "change" Edited December 10, 2013 by Guest Quote
stevepoe Posted December 10, 2013 Author Posted December 10, 2013 Good Job Steve I was making popcorn Chris ........ Quote
gbrown8439 Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 I heard it also comes with a NASA designed ABS system that is capable of defying the laws of physics. Quote
nape Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I'm waiting for the Ford Racing version to have notched rear frame rails to accommodate race ride heights before I make popcorn... Quote
marshallmosty Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I've heard the V8 is only available with a dog ring transmission and a dry sump motor. Quote
Grizlbits Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 ... and front spindles that will only accept 15" brakes. Quote
Micks 41 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 ....motor cannot be de-tuned safely to 9.5:1 level. Quote
SNAKBITN Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I saw angel's from above spread there wing's over the hood and bless it.AI is over as we know it. Quote
UBR Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 And there will be a special key that will detune the engine for those pesky dyno pulls... Oh wait... Quote
marshallmosty Posted December 12, 2013 Posted December 12, 2013 Traction control cannot be disabled and ground clearance is a measly 3". Quote
D Algozine Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 Ford will probably write a big ass check to imsa/nascar in 2015. How does that saying go," Money talks and BS walks" Quote
bens98gt Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 NASA will make it a 12:1 ratio and AI will be a drift contest. Quote
RehagenRacing Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Just picked up my new 2015 car. Can't wait to take it apart and build it into a racecar.... Quote
