ELO168
Is stainless steel with Black Nitride valves allowed in H2 or just stainless steel?

AZELISE
You can find your answer in the Honda Challenge rules here: 10.3 (d) 8.1 (f) The way I interpret the rules for a Limited Prep H2 engine is that the valves have to be the same as the OEM part for the engine. ELO168
Yeah I read that too. It shows OEM equivalent, but equivalent to what? Size, material?
ILIKETODRIVE
8.1 f) Valve face where it mates to the seat may be machined and valve seats may be machined for the purposes of a valve job. Valves may only be replaced with the exact OEM equivalent, with exception of valve job. 10.3 d) Valve preparation at the face of the valve where it mates to the seat (angle, cut) is unrestricted, but size must remain factory spec and material must remain OEM Honda. That's pretty straightforward to me. How I read it: You can use OEM Honda valves or you can use aftermarket valves that are essentially identical except for the fact that Honda did not manufacture them. Bingo, that's how we understand it as well
