Balroks
I seem to remember the CCR stating a min thickness for lex windshields and side windows in a previous version, plus X straps etc. A friend is in the middle of a build and wanted to verify what those specs which and I can't seem to locate in 2015 CCR's anymore? kbrew8991
there are no longer such provisions in the CCRs. However, I'd look up some other club's specs as a guideline as to what a safe minimum might be so you don't get hassled in tech.
Balroks
Figured as much. Seems odd they would omit any safety rules lol.
National Staff Greg G. Posted January 14, 2015 National Staff Share Posted January 14, 2015 I believe it was 3/16" minimum thickness Lexan.
jrgordonsenior
3/16 is too thin for a windshield. They deflect and distort vision at speed. Scary @ 150 on the banking at ACS....
Jeremy R.
There's a great deal of flex at that speed without support
