Track-day VW Corrado For Sale

1990 Yellow G60 VW Corrado converted into track-day car for various club events. Engine failure (deformed piston). Original owner with virtually all records and receipts including original purchase records and performance upgrade receipts.

Performance Upgrades

Engine: The engine is largely stock with Autotech chip but now needs a rebuild. Charger functioning when engine failed, mileage approximately 115,000. Mobil 1 since new which likely has extended the charger life. The AC condenser and associated plumbing was removed for better cooling and weight reduction.

Transmission: 02A transmission rebuilt by SRS with Quaife limited slip differential and 4-puck racing clutch (have receipt with detailed information).

Exhaust: Techtonics Tuning 2.5” stainless steel cat. back tubing with high flowing Borla high flow muffler and DTM style tip.

Suspension: work performed by Shine Racing Service (SRS) of Mass. including new Bilstien racing shocks, coiler-over racing springs (ride height adjustable) with 600 front/400 rear spring rates, SRS large diameter rear sway bar, welded camber plates, new lower control arms with spherical bearings, new rear trailing axle and bearing, new strut bearings all corners. Rear axle negative camber shims. New ball joints. SRS aligned and corner balanced the Corrado with near perfect 50/50 weight distribution (have receipt with detailed information).

Safety: A six point Autopower roll cage has been added for track safety purposes. The roll cage stiffened the chasis significantly and enhanced performance.

Rims & Tires: 3 sets of rims and tires available. One set of stock 6” x 15” rims with 195/50-15 tires (half tread). One set of TSW VX1 rims with BF Goodrich Comp T/A R1 competition tires (1/2 to 1/3 tread), One set of Borbet T-3 7” x 15” rims with Kumho ECSTA V700 competition tires, shaved to 4/32 and heat cycled for extended life (one track day event).

Miscellaneous: New motor and transmission mounts. Battery relocation kit moved the battery from the front to the lowest point of the car (behind the passenger front seat) to help improve the weight distribution and center of gravity.

Extensive photos, records of SRS work and other receipts. Over $10,000 invested for a reduced price of $3,000. I have a trailer and would be willing to deliver locally or meet somewhere in CT. E-mail me at [email protected] for pictures, receipt copies, and other information.
