Hey guys/gals, I'm looking to sell my car. I'm headed in a different direction now.

Looking to simplify life and go back to just having a track toy/DD.

I'm about 60 miles SW of Chicago.

 

FOR SALE 1985.5 944-SPEC RACECAR

Here's what the #3 has.....

 

Motor..

Jim Hartman (Pine Tree) complete engine re-build.

Turbo valve springs.

Crank Rod journals drilled with extra hole.

ARP rod nuts and bolts.

Trap door oil pan baffle.

Oil pick-up ring around the screen.

Oil pick-up tube brace.

New water pump, seals, gaskets.

New belts, timing and alt.

All new hoses.

"Steam vent" for the rear of head.

Shaved head low compression motor.

AC delete bracket.

Header wrap.

Hanksville dump type down pipe.

New clutch.

Clutch master cylinder rebuilt.

New light weight cooling fan. Temp never goes above 195*.

Oil cooler.

"Ram Air" from fog light to the stock air box with K&N filter.

New fuel lines on the top of motor, wrapped and insulated.

New injectors.

Fuel tank cleaned and new filter.

New cap, rotor, foam seal and plastic dust seal.

New throttle cable.

KLA Industries oil pan gasket retention bracket.

 

Chassis interior...

COMPLETE interior strip, ALL the insulation is gone.

Doors gutted and locking mechanism removed. Has Plexiglas

side windows for transport only.

Car stripped of all unnecessary weight according to rules.

All nuts, bolts, studs and unnecessary brackets.

All wiring stripped out including stock fuse box. New

wires and relays.

Complete E-brake system removed.

Car should weight in around 2330 without driver and

ballast.

Custom welded cage, even Jim called me for pics to do

another cage like mine.

ALL bars in cage are 1.5'' x .120 which exceed the CCR.

Nascar door bars on both sides.

Separate harness bar.

A and B pillars attached to cage along with foot bars. Max

legal 12 attachment points per rules.

Painted interior.

Lexan front windshield.

Stripped and lightened factory dash.

Tach, oil pressure, water temp and adjustable shift light.

Gauges are illuminated for night racing.

Factory lights are gone but I've install LED's in

there place. Easily removed and the factory light

cover can be reinstalled, which I have.

Master Kill switch per rules.

Secondary master.

On board fire suppression system with 2 nozzles, one in

engine, one pointed at driver. Refreshed 6-30-2016

good for 2 years until 6-30-2018.

Spare tire well converted to hold Koolsuit cooler with hold

down straps. Cooler included.

Shroth 6 point belts. The Hans type 3'' to

2'', to go over the Hans device.

Belts are current with 3 years to go.

Window net and RHS drivers net are new this year so 5 year

to go for them.

Corbeau seat on double sliders with a seat back brace.

Fuel fill restrictor removed for fast fill-ups.

Debris screen that covers the radiator and ram air openings.

Light weight Brail battery and mount.

PTT button on steering wheel.

Radio box inside.

12 volt base for radio inside car. No need to change batteries.

Roof mounted shark antenna.

Radios not included.

PTD (Push To Drink) button on wheel.

Large drink cooler mounted on passenger side floor.

Two (2) removable 40lbs each, lead ballast.

I said the car was light. Each one has 4, grade 8

bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts.

AMB 260 transponder. Hard-wired, no need to charge.

 

Suspension....

Koni yellows at all 4 corners.

Adjustable spring perches up front.

Adjustable camber plates.

400 lb. Eibach's up front.

30mm solid torsion bars out back.

New steel A arms that have been box welded.

New ball joints.

New tie rod ends

Manual steering rack. Not a converted power rack.

Weiltmeister sways, front and rear.

All Delrin bushings with zerk fittings. I mean every one,

except Caster Block, even the steering rack has a delrin bushing.

Caster block bushing are poly w/zerk.

Car has been corner balanced and alignment done

after all the new parts were installed.

 

Brakes...

Master cylinder rebuilt.

All calipers rebuilt.

SS brake lines at all 4 corners.

Hawk DTC-60's front, Blue rear.

 

Transaxle...

Has tall gear.

Open diff.

Fresh oil

New turbo CV and half-shafts.

New rear trailing arm wheel bearings.

 

The body has some battle scars but nothing major.

The car/motor/chassis has 62 hours on it since being built.

In the last 12 hr race, oil pressure was 60psi. That was

at the end of the race I might add.

The only items left to add to be at the limit of the rules

are the 2* cam key, an LSD w/lower 5th gear, Lexan rear

side windows.

 

I have finished on the podium twice in SPEC class and

several more times in the Autobahn Country Club

Endurance Series, taking First Place in the 12 Hour.

Not bad for an old man who's never going to be in the front.

The car can do it, just not with me in it. LOL

Current 2016 NASA and ACC log book.

This car is set up and ready to go, it needs nothing

to start racing except a new driver.

All this for only.....$9750 and I can help to deliver.

You won't find a better put-together clean build for less!!

 

I also have an open tilt bed trailer with a big box and wench for sale too.

It can go with the car for an extra $2250. I will not sell the trailer

before the car. Trailer and box have fresh paint as of 7-4-16
