Anyone have a time travel machine? Infineon was a Nor Cal Event with So cal cross over. Now as for mid ohio... Well do like all big budget teams... ... Tim Comeau
So a total of 9 race weekends.... Drop 2 of your choice....... That makes 7 race weekends or 14 sprint races for the 2006 SoCal Championship. Sound good to you guys?
Tim Comeau
It looks like there is only one scheduling conflict between NASA and the POC so far for 2006. That's the first date on Feb 11-12. NASA is at Willow Springs and POC is at Las Vegas. Want to pick some big 944 gathering dates now? Remember the POC race licensing issue! 944 Swede
I'd propose: Drop 5 races. In other words drop 2 weekends and either a Saturday or a Sunday race. You know it will happen where a car runs fine on Saturday and then breaks down Sunday morning.... More than likely there will be more conflicting dates with POC. i.e. count your best 13 results (races) towards the Championship.
Packfill
I agree with the Swede... Lets make this a racing contest, not an attendance contest... I believe this will be good for the competitors and good for NASA. If you know ahead of time , you have no chance of making the prerequisite number of races, you are less likely to attend others..... 944 Swede
According to the latest POC schedule, there are 2 conflicting weekends. Feb. 11-12 NASA Willow Springs POC Las Vegas June 10-11 NASA Buttonwillow POC Willow Springs On April 9-10 NASA runs Buttonwillow and POC runs Streets of Willow which is TT only. Maybe we can make the following 4 NASA events our "Jackpot" races: March 10-12 Cal Speedway May 6-7 Willow Springs August 5-6 Willow Springs Oct. 14-15 Buttonwillow
Spec-944#70
Looks like the only ones I'll be able to attend may be: July 8&9 Willow Springs Oct 14&15 BW And July is iffy!
944-Spec#94
Looks like the Sept Willow date got move to early August to leave room for nationals. No AIR FRIEGHT needed!
Tim Comeau
Ok, I could go for that system of race drops, you guys. 9 weekends total. 18 races total. drop your choice of 5 and count 13 towards the championship. Any heartache with that anyone?
Packfill
LOVE IT!! Thanks, Tim.....
944-Spec#94
I just reset my season totals page to calcuate a 5 race drop next year. Interesting using this years races and points the only driver who's point total changed was Mikeal Weitze. His points go to 860 vs his actual 1083. Reason?... He would drop his 2 7th's at Cal Speedway and a 3rd at Willow Springs back in may. He would keep his 5 first place finishes and 4 second place finishs and still win the season championship. Bill Addy would get to drop the 5 races he missed keeping his point total at 745. Everyone else missed at least 5 races in 2005 so the points would not change. Interesting indeed. However it should give folks a greater chance to Win without needing to make a 9 local events.
