Can someone help me understand the reasoning behind the - .2 mod factor for the Mazda Miata floor pan drop?

I'm fairly curious about this as well.  I'd love to get my head away from the cage instead of bouncing off of the padding.

Just be happy that it is no longer a 100lb penalty as it was under the PT rules.  These two threads explain the reasoning.
