ssmith
Any update for the Wednesday schedule? I know there's another event there that day so I assume not too early. Will registration be open Wed evening?
National Staff Marie A. Posted August 26, 2022 National Staff Share Posted August 26, 2022 (edited) Still finalizing details for Wednesday evening check in/load in. We are coordinating with the event organizers on Wednesday to have as harmonious of a transition as humanly possible. Details will be posted on nasachamps.com when they are final. Anticipating a 5 or 6pm move in time with registration opening an hour or two prior to that. (subject to change depending on what we can work out with Laguna/the Wednesday track rental). Thanks! Matt Powers
Why are the qualifying split sessions so far apart? Why wouldn't the Group "X" Qualifying 1 & 2 be back to back? Otherwise you could have cars in the same class qualifying in very different track conditions. Seems like a very simple fix.

One reason is to allow for cars to have mechanical gremlins that need to be worked out, with time between sessions to fix them. Another is that track conditions can vary whether they are back to back or not--California clouds and rain are finicky. Some competitors will not want to run the extra gas and weight to have the car ready for two sessions. Lastly, we need time after each competition session to do compliance inspections.
