Shooting Brake
I've been in HPDE4 for three years and considering TT next year. I populated the ST/TT Classification Form; minimum comp weight w/driver classes me in TT4. Friends are encouraging me to add ballast and run in TT5. Is there a limit how much ballast can be added? I examined the CCR and TT rules and didn't see limitations.
Members Mike W.
As referenced in Section 6 of the TT rules, you must look at the ST rules for classing information. The limits on ballast are on Page 5 of the ST5-6 rules. https://nasa-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/document/document/23458/2022_ST_5-6_Rules.pdf CCR 15.20—Up to three hundred (300) lbs. of added ballast is permitted. All ballast must be of solid material (no fluids or shot pellets), safely secured in any location on the vehicle not disallowed by NASA safety technical inspectors, and comply with Section 15.20 of the NASA CCR.
