roadracebc1
Proposed by Jeff Feit: Revise Sections 8.1 (Dynamometer Certification), 8.2 (Inspection and Testing), and Appendix 1 (Sample Dyno Test Data Sheet & Instructions) and Appendix 2 (2023 Dyno Procedure at the track for NASA Spec Iron) to incorporate the following changes/clarifications: 1. Require that all 3 pulls are consecutive (unless an operator error caused a pull to be invalid), not continually increasing, and with a variance of less then a set percentage. If the first 3 pulls are all increasing, pulls will continue to be made until 3 consecutive, non-increasing pulls are achieved or the temperature limit is reached. Alternately, allow 3 increasing pulls if the variance is less than a set percentage (tighter than the limits for non-increasing). If a car cannot meet these testing parameters it may be disqualified at the discretion of tech staff. 2. Specify acceptable methods for temperature monitoring (IR Temp Gun, OBD2 Scanner, Display of CAN data, Mechanical/Electrical Gauge) and specify that the method and value at the start of the first pull be recorded and included with the report. 3. Revise "2023 Dyno Spec Iron Test Data and Vehicle Specification Sheet" to remove parameters not relevant to Spec Iron (Carb Jets, Header size, etc.). 4. Clarify that the dyno testing must be done with only inertial loads. 5. Specify that since official dyno tests are open, the results are public and can be published or made available to any competitor by request. 6. Specify that if a competitor disputes the results of an official dyno for any reason, tech officials will determine if the dispute is valid (for example if the temperature was not in range) If it is, a new dyno test will be allowed.
