white_2kgt
If that is true....that sux. The V8 is the better choice. a 4cyl turbo car isnt going to make broad peak power like the V8 car. So everywhere else in the rev range, the V8 will crush the 4 cyl car. The only advantage would be to get it down closer to 2000 pounds and have a braking/ handling advantage. Or you skip the turbo and just run an old NASCAR bush series V6, makes plenty of power with less trouble...

Yes, but the problem is, most, if not all of my local short tracks don't allow turbo's or V6's. This car is a dual purpose car, Road Race and Short Track. Renntag
Are piggybacks or full standalone computers legal? I should hope so. This sure makes the little motors sound viable.
mcmmotorsports
Did they ever decide on the rule for the diagonal? Does it need to be a continuous piece or can it be in two pieces? Doesn't say here what I need to know: 15.6.7 Diagonal Brace At least one (1) diagonal brace shall be used in the same plane as the main hoop. One end of the diagonal brace shall attach to the corner, or horizontal part, of the main hoop above the driver’s head, within twelve (12) inches of the driver’s-side corner. The other end of the diagonal brace shall attach to the mounting plate (or to the main hoop as close to the mounting plate as practically possible) diagonally opposed to the driver’s head (passenger floor). IIRC they said all those currently built w/ log books could stay 2 pc, any new books _should_ be a single piece. This was AI, according tot he CCR, it has to be 1 pc.
