Adam Ginsberg Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 BTW - the schedule I posted above is NOT the CA AI/CMC schedule - it is the schedules for each respective region that Carson asked about. The CA AI/CMC schedule is still what was originally posted: February 6-7, Infineon Raceway (NorCal) March 12-14, California Speedway (SoCal) April 24-25, Thunderhill Raceway (NorCal) May 22-23, Willow Springs International Raceway (SoCal) June 26-27, Infineon Raceway (NorCal) July 31- August 1, California Speedway (SoCal) Oct 9-10, Infineon Raceway (NorCal) Nov 6-7 Buttonwillow Raceway (SoCal) Quote
Carson Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 howabout replacing the 2009 scheduale with the 2010 schedule on the CMC home page which could also use a link to the NASA site ( the ol' cmc usta have the NASA logo as a link ) Quote
JermBua Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Good job..... on not scheduling No-Cal and So-Cal on the same weekend. We need to become one region again. Have some fun and camaraderie. Stick together, or we may lose this great field of racers. We should be strong like the Texas region. Quote
GT4Point6 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Valid points Kevin. Lets say there are 12 norcal and 8 socal races. Thats 20 total and 4 drops. As a norcal driver if you go to all norcal events and two socal events thats 20 races in six events. As a socal driver if you go to all socal events thats 8 so you need to go to three norcal events to get to the minimum number of races...but then you've have competed in one race that you drop instead of dropping zeroes... my brain hurts! Let me spin this around some more So lets say I only do 17 races, then I only drop one to make 16? If I make 16 or less, then no drops? Then that sounds fair. I've never really got a good grasp on the % drop, or when to and not to drop races... Quote
Adam Ginsberg Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Apparently, there has been a change to ONE DATE on our schedule: February 27-28, Infineon Raceway (NorCal) - CHANGED!! March 12-14, California Speedway (SoCal) April 24-25, Thunderhill Raceway (NorCal) May 22-23, Willow Springs International Raceway (SoCal) June 26-27, Infineon Raceway (NorCal) July 31- August 1, California Speedway (SoCal) Oct 9-10, Infineon Raceway (NorCal) Nov 6-7 Buttonwillow Raceway (SoCal) My apologies - I just found out about it this week. The announcement has been updated. Quote

As a socal driver if you go to all socal events thats 8 so you need to go to three norcal events to get to the minimum number of races...but then you've have competed in one race that you drop instead of dropping zeroes... my brain hurts! Let me spin this around some more Really? 4 Norcal = 12 2 Socal = 4 TOTAL = 16 (Your math says 20) SOMEONE please clarify the minimum number of races required for someone interested in the Cal chapionship. 20 races - 4 drops? 16 races - 0 drops? Only 16 required? HELP!?!?!?!? Quote
GT4Point6 Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 I know the rules say "drop" 20% So say a someone wants to race thier region + only three of the other region races. For arguement purposes, lets use 100 point win for each race. Both racers get at least 16 races in, This is my complaint: NORCAL racer 4 Norcal - 12 races = 1200 points 3 Socal - 6 races = 600 points 18 races totalling 1800 points then -20% Socal racer 4 Socal - 8 races = 800 points 3 Norcal - 9 races = 900 points 17 races totalling 1700 points then - 20% So the advantage goes to the Norcal racer with 100 extra points before the deduction. Best case, 80 points after a 20% drop. 80 Points is huge, lets equal this up somehow or someone explain the math to me that makes sense because I haven't seen it yet and not getting responses so far other than math that doesn't add up as posted above... Adam Ginsberg Posted December 17, 2009 Posted December 17, 2009 Kevin - unfortunately, I don't have a solid answer yet on how to deal with the differences in regional race numbers. For a SoCal racer only interested in his/her regional championship, it's pretty simple. Same for a NorCal racer. The issue is someone racing for the West Coast Championship. I'm still working on it - my apologies for not responding sooner. Quote
JermBua Posted December 18, 2009 Posted December 18, 2009 We can equal it up by combining the So-Cal and Nor-Cal. Quote
Adam Ginsberg Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Our solution. As always, please give us your thoughts. Happy Holidays, folks. Quote
