I have never seen an open ballot for a regional or national director position in AI or CMC. Every director position I'm aware of, including when I was the MW/GL CMC director for three years, was appointed. The rest I won't necessarily disagree with. I have a keen sense of the obvious and based on the local AI environment, I think we need to release some details and the final rules ASAP.
